As I've mentioned before, I'm not a terribly good cook. But we try not to eat out too often, for budget and health reasons. Still, we do enjoy eating out, so I'm always glad to find restaurants that are family-friendly and that offer great, fresh food. Recently we found a place that checks off all of my boxes- Qdoba in Seattle's University Plaza! I hadn't eaten at Qdoba in years, but I'm glad I finally made it back!
During our visit we had the chance to try a number of dishes on the Qdoba menu and speak with members of the management. Let me tell you, it was a yummy evening and I loved learning more about the company. Qdoba is committed to using fresh ingredients. No big freezer for them, they make things fresh daily, even hand smashing the guacamole! We had the chance to try the Loaded Tortilla Soup. This is a veggie-based soup to which you can add meats, cheese, sour cream, queso or guacamole- personalize it just the way you want. And you can eat the bowl that it comes in!
We also tried Qdoba's Knockout Tacos. There are six of these on the menu and they are really yummy!
These knockout tacos come with toppings already on them, so you don't have to worry about what works best together. But if you want to personalize your food a bit more, most of Qdoba's menu items are made to order. You just go down the line and pick your toppings. The only upcharge is for protein, but everything else, including queso and guacamole is free!
The other great part of the evening was getting to try some of the wine and beer being served at this University Plaza location. Even beer on tap! They had a small, but nice, selection of beers on tap, all local Washington beer. I got to try a couple of them and give them a big thumbs up. The wine was also quite nice.
The restaurant itself is modern and clean and has plenty of seating for families. I can't wait to return and try more of Qdoba's yummy food!
The University Plaza location is at 5025 25th Ave NE, Suite 101 in Seattle. Drop by for great food and drink!
