Holiday Gift Guide 2015: Ring It!

*Disclosure: I received this game to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

There has been much ringing of a bell in my home lately, since the arrival of a new game called Ring It! My kids are a bit obsessed with it and want to play it constantly! Here's a bit about this fun new game from Blue Orange Games:

Ring It!, an exciting new game that combines the play patterns of matching games with the creative social interaction of party games! Players continuously flip their cards until a combination is found. The combination can be a match between 2 numbers, 2 colors, 2 symbols and more… When the right combination is spotted, players clap their hands and ring the bell! The first one to do so wins all the face-up cards on the table, and the game continues.

I'm giving this game two thumbs up. It hits all of the items on my checklist for a good game. First off, it's really easy to play. There's almost no learning curve. If you can recognize colors and  numbers, you're good to go. Second, the game moves quickly.  I can play a round or two with my kids without investing the whole evening. Third, the game can be played with 2-9 people, so it is fun for just my kids on their own or for a larger group. Next, the game is good for  my kids to play, as it helps them with their attention and motor skills. And finally, it's small and self contained in a tin. No pieces to keep track of or lose.

This game would make a great stocking stuffer and a fun addition to holiday gatherings!
