Holiday Gift Guide 2015: Girl Power Campaign

*Disclosure: I received products to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

Vivian's been rocking some new clothes and accessories lately, thanks to something called the Girl Power Campaign. Here's a bit about this campaign, from its website:

The Girl Power Campaign has created a fun and powerful way for parents to help girls develop a healthy self-image and a successful mindset. Based on latest cognitive behavioral and growth mindset research we have created five simple steps that will change how girls see themselves, others, and their future.
Studies indicate that girls’ top desire is for their parents to spend time with them using open communication in a safe environment. They want to feel special and important. Girl Power Campaign has put together 5 steps to help you encourage and relate with your girls. Our sponsor Zootuz has created fun and fashionable Stretch-N-Reveal bracelets as daily reminders to help implement the steps. Studies show daily positive reinforcement builds young girls self-confidence.

My daughter, Vivian, is only 6 years old and is in first grade, but I know that she's already taking in messages from the world around her about what it means to be a girl in this society. We're trying to encourage her to be brave and loving and free to be whatever she wants to be. Right now what she wants to be is a unicorn, which I'm not sure is a sustainable life goal, but at least she's dreaming big.

When our package arrived from the Girl Power Campaign, Vivian put on her t-shirt and bracelets and asked me to read the hidden messages to her. There are five messages in each set of bracelets. They encourage girls to be empowered to be themselves, follow their dreams, shine bright, make a difference, and change the world. These are all messages that girls (and grown women too!) need to be reminded of often, so I love that they are presented to girls in this fun and creative way.

If you have young girls in your life, be sure to check out the Girl Power Campaign website. And I have great news- one lucky reader will win a Girl Power Campaign prize pack! It includes a t-shirt, hoodie and pack of bracelets. We've received all three and they are great! Open to US mailing addresses, enter at the Rafflecopter widget below.
