Review: Egoiste Cafe Noir

*Disclosure: I received a sample of this product to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

It's been a long summer. We had a bathroom remodel that went on forever, my kids chose to not do any camps this year and were home with me for most of the summer break, we were traveling a lot, and now the school year has been delayed by a strike. All of that to say, caffeine has been a very important part of keeping me going for the past few months.

One of the sources of caffeine that I have been ingesting is one that is new to the US market Egoiste Cafe. This coffee has been popular overseas for some time and finally made its way to us. Here's a bit about it, from the product's website.

Egoiste is the result of a long, laborious process taking place in several countries of the world. We use the most advanced equipment and unique patented technologies. Thus, we present to you inimitable blending and original design embodiment.
We love the products we create. That’s why only the highest quality standards apply to Egoiste Noir. We use the best coffee beans exclusively and control all production stages in collaboration with international coffee producers from Switzerland, Germany, India and Colombia.
I love that this coffee is available as an instant coffee. With two energetic kids around, I don't have time for a long coffee brewing process. This is a fairly dark roast, so the taste is pretty intense. I typically drink more mild coffee, so had to play around with getting the ratio of coffee crystals to water just right, but I eventually figured it out and enjoyed my cups of coffee a lot. If you're looking for an upscale instant coffee to get you through the winter months, check Egoiste out!
