We are about halfway through summer break here in Seattle, and in the midst of our busy schedule, I've been trying to make sure that I spend time doing things with the kids that are educational as well as fun. I recently received a great tool to help me with this goal- the Space Racers Parent & Educator Toolkit. Here's a bit about Space Racers, in case you are not familiar with this fun show:
SPACE RACERS® is an original animated TV series that provides young children with exposure to key aspects of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, curriculum. Produced in collaboration with NASA experts, the series follows a group of talented young spaceship cadets at the Stardust Bay Space Academy. Kids will travel with speedy Eagle, strong Hawk, smart Robyn, brave Starling and competitive Raven as they soar through the Solar System learning about the power of scientific investigation and observation, the wonders of space exploration and the importance of working as a team.
My kids have been watching Space Racers for a few months now and really enjoying it. I love that they are learning lots of information about space and science while they watch it! This toolkit includes 13 episodes of the show, which the kids enjoyed watching, but it's more than just that. In addition to the DVD with the episodes, the toolkit includes a CD-Rom with detailed lesson plans and activities to do with your kids! I'm not much of a lesson planner, myself, so I appreciated the instructions and easy-to-follow tips for setting up an experience that would be fun and educational for us all.
If you're a parent who wants to help your kids (ages preschool-grade 3) with gaining some basic science knowledge and having fun- this toolkit is packed with great information and plans to help you do just that. We love it! You can pick up your own copy at this link. And for this week only, you can get 20% off your order! Details below:
