Book review and giveaway: More- From Messes to Miracles

*Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

I read a lot of books, and one of the things I value most in books that fall into the Christian Life or Inspirational category is honesty from the writers.  We all do such a good job of putting on a good face, but we all have our issues that we struggle with inside.  So when someone is writing a book that's designed to encourage me to grow in my faith and my walk with Christ, it's encouraging to hear about the path that the author has walked.  More- From Messes to Miracles is one of those very honest, very encouraging books.  Here's a bit about it, from the publisher's website:

People everywhere are looking for something more. Churched and non-churched alike. They’re in the grocery store aisle behind you, in the nail chair beside you, singing praise songs in front of you, and perhaps in the mirror staring back at you. People feel messy; plagued by looming feelings of ineffectiveness, indifference, depression, and purposelessness.Does this sound like you?
Perhaps you keep wishing your life were better than what you are currently experiencing now. What if more of God is actually what’s missing from your life? Do you encounter the freedom God brings each day? Whether it’s a messy life or a messy problem in your life, it can become a walking miracle when we see God anew and wholly surrender to Him.

The author, Tammie Head, holds nothing back in this book. She is open and honest about where her life was when she was a young person and the bad paths that she was on.  She's open about her family life and her struggles and successes. And she's passionate about her love for the Bible and for a real, strong relationship with Jesus. You can feel her enthusiasm coming off the page- she loves Him and she wants her readers to know that deep love relationship as well. I highly recommend this book for women at all places in their walk with Christ. You'll put it down at the end feeling loved and encouraged to know God more.
