Review and giveaway: Back to School with BIC products!

*Disclosure: I received an assortment of BIC products to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

My kids still have five weeks left of summer vacation, but the time is passing quickly. And many of my friends and relatives are getting ready to send their kids back to school very soon! Which means it's time for back-to-school shopping and preparing for another year of learning. I'm not completely done with getting my kids' school supplies together, but thanks to BIC, I was able to cross a bunch of things off of my list! Here is some information on these great new products from a press release that I received:
"BIC’s main goal this year is to encourage students to write more often, because writing is by far one of the most important learning tools for a child’s academic success and growth. Research has shown that writing fosters children’s emotional and cognitive development, helps foster critical thinking skills and improves academic achievement.

To help achieve our goal, BIC has launched the “Fight for Your Write” campaign, which reinforces how fun and empowering writing can be. The campaign, which can be found at www.bicfightforyourwrite.com, offers information about writing and tips from literacy expert Pam Allyn to help parents, caregivers and students make a commitment to write more often.

So now that you’re ready to write—but you need the right tools! BIC’s new back-to-school products help make writing fun, inspiring students to confidently express their thoughts through the written word."
We've been having fun with all of these products. Vivian loves them so much that they keep disappearing from my desk and showing up on hers. The pens are nice and comfortable to write with and the wite-out is very handy to have on hand. We love it all! But a few products really stood out for me and also really met a need that I had with my kids.  These are the products that are made by BIC especially for kids and include the kids' pen, stylus and mechanical pencil.  These are all designed with a handy little plastic grip in the middle, which helps your child learn to hold his or her writing implement properly.  The mechanical pencil has been great for Ethan in particular.  The lead is a bit thicker than on other pencils, so it doesn't snap off as easily when he presses down too hard. I know this is going to be great for all his first grade homework!

So, when you're doing your back-to-school supply shopping, check out the great offerings from BIC.  We love them and I think you will too!

And I have good news! One lucky reader will win a back-to-school prize pack from BIC! Open to US mailing addresses, enter at the Rafflecopter widget below.  a Rafflecopter giveaway
