Book review: God's Little Princess Bedtime Devotional

*Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

My 4-1/2-year old daughter, Vivian is a princess. If you ask her her name, the answer will generally be "Princess Vivian" or just "Princess". Most of her stuffed animals are named Princess and her imaginary friend is as well. When she and I cross paths in our house, we curtsey and say "hello, your highness" or "hello, your majesty".  (Yes, I answer to Your Majesty, so there's not much confusion about where Vivian got this from...)  She also is a huge fan of the color pink (she did not get this trait from me) and generally dresses herself in the fluffiest, pinkest outfits that she can find. All this to say, when I got an email letting me know about a new devotional called God's Little Princess Bedtime Devotional,  from Sheila Walsh and saw the cover, I knew it was something that Vivian and I desperately needed.

Bedtime means special moments to share between a parent and daughter, and God’s Little Princess Bedtime Devotional will help settle her heart and mind as she heads to bed. Bestselling author Sheila Walsh offers 106 daily devotions: each with a scripture, a short thought, a rhyming prayer, and a “Good Night Giggles and Grace” activity that will send every little princess off to bed full of smiles, feeling loved and secure.

Okay, so that crown on the cover? It has real, pink, sparkly "jewels" in it, and the rest of the cover has lots of pink sparkly glitter. So Vivian was in love with the book before I opened it.  She and I have been loving the devotionals. They are short (appropriate for about ages 5-7), give us things to talk about, and remind us both that God loves her so much.  If Vivian is going to be crazy about princesses and decide that she is one, I want books like this around to help her remember how to be God's princess.

This great little devotional is available now. If there is a young princess in your life, you do not want to miss this book and the others in the God's Little Princess series of books.
