Every year, close to the holiday time, my mailbox starts filling up with gift guides from various charities. One that I always donate to is the catalog from World Vision Gift Guide. World Vision is a local company that does a lot of good work around the world. I've had sponsored children through their program for years, but the gift guide is a great way to give a little extra. My family usually picks items that are relevant to our lives- baby items when my little ones were babies, medical when we have health issues, and this year probably early education, since my kids are in school. That's just our method- there's no wrong way to give! Here's a bit about the catalog, from a press release that I received:
The World Vision Gift Catalog offers more than 250 items that help fight poverty and save lives here in US and around the world. With a financial contribution, donors can select one of the 30+ Handcrafted Gifts that can be shared with a loved one and at the same time help a person in need. One of the items that you can receive with a donation is Gertie the Plush Goat: Gertie is available exclusively through World Vision and represents farm animals that are donated to children and families around the world and provide a steady supply of nutritious food and the surplus can be sold for extra income. I received this item and Vivian is crazy about it. "Lamb", as she calls the toy, has been going everywhere with us this week!
I have good news- one of you will win a little plush lamb for yourself! Open to US mailing addresses only, enter at the Rafflecopter widget below.a Rafflecopter giveaway
