When I received an email a few weeks ago asking if I'd be interested in doing a review of a store called Pharmaca, I was skeptical of how much I would find at the store that I really needed. We're pretty well stocked on vitamins around here. But I accepted anyway, figuring that I would probably be able to find something useful. Little did I know that narrowing down my choices of what to buy at Pharmaca would be so complicated- they have so many great things! Here's a bit about Pharmaca, from an email that I was sent:
Pharmaca offers credentialed pharmacists, naturopathic doctors, nutritionists, herbalists and more so you can achieve good health without an appointment, insurance or headache. Pharmaca provides traditional pharmacy services alongside holistic remedies so customers can choose how they want to approach their health care. Their staff of certified practitioners helps guide customers through a selection of over-the-counter medications, alternative remedies, and natural cosmetics and body care products.
After my gift card arrived last week, we packed the kids up in the car and drove to a neighborhood close by, where a Pharmaca store is conveniently located. When we walked into the store we were greeted warmly by friendly staff and offered help if we needed it. The kids made a beeline for the colorful display of back to school items, and Vivian began campaigning for a new lunch box (she succeeded in her quest). I started wandering around the store and was really impressed by the variety of items that Pharmaca carried.
In addition to a large selection of dietary supplements, there was an area with snacks, a big beauty/skin/hair care area (with lots of great items including Zuzu Luxe Mascara Onyx and John Masters Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner), green home cleaning products (Method and Mrs. Meyer's, among other brands) baby care items, toys, a full pharmacy and other typical drug store items. With our $50 gift card we ended up getting some fiber gummies for the kids, several chocolate bars and fruit snacks, a new lunch box for Vivian, a baby present for my friend, some Mrs. Meyer's hand soap (love!), and an assortment of travel sized hair products. Prices in the store were comparable to other drug stores that I shop in. All in all, I was really impressed by the store and will definitely return to shop there again!
And I have good news- one lucky reader will win a $50 gift card to make a shopping trip of his/her own! Note- the gift card is only valid for the stores (store locator here), not the Pharmaca website. Enter at the Rafflecopter widget below!
