Review: Spot It! MLB from Blue Orange Games

A while back I had the opportunity to work with Blue Orange games and review their fun game called Spot It! It's still a favorite of my kids, and I find them huddled over the cards often.  When I had the opportunity to work with Blue Orange again, I thrilled to see that they have released a new version of Spot It! called Spot It! MLB. Here's a bit about it, from the Blue Orange website.

Batter up! Test your visual skills and have a ball with Spot it! MLB™ Edition. It plays just like regular Spot it!, but features the logos of all 30 major league teams, plus assorted baseball icons and images.

Spot it! is a truly one-of-a-kind card game. Each card contains 8 images, and between any 2 cards there is one, and only one, matching image. Players simultaneously try to gain or get rid of cards by spotting matches between their card and either a center card or an opponent’s card. There are 5 challenging mini party games in one pack of Spot it!

Spot it! MLB™ Edition combines this great game with the classic game of baseball. Whether the logo of your favorite team, a bitter rival, or another image such as a baseball diamond, a scoreboard, or a pennant, spot it and you’ll be running the bases to victory! At home, in the car, at the park, or anywhere else baseball and gamers gather, Spot it! MLB ™ Edition provides innings of fun and excitement.

Skills developed in this game:
Spot it! MLB ™ teaches the teams’ logos and names, while supports visual perception and reaction time. It stimulates mental processing and sharpens matching skills, all in a fun atmosphere.

Game facts:
Ages: 7 to Adult 2 to 8 players
The suggested age on this game is 7 and up, but my 3 and 5 year old love looking for the matching pictures. Sometimes they find them before I do!  Ethan is a huge baseball fan, so he's been having a great time learning all of the logos and especially looking for the logo of his beloved Seattle Mariners.  I love that they are doing something fun and good for their brain at the same time.  And since the game is small and fits into the metal tin that it comes in, it's not another thing cluttering up my kids' room.  Win win!

Blue Orange has tons of other great looking games too.  The holidays are coming up- how about a new game to play with your family!

Disclosure: I received this game to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
