Last minute gift ideas from World Vision- with giveaway!

I'm a big fan of the charitable organization World Vision and have been a long-time donor and child sponsor through World Vision's programs.  I've also been a long-time fan of World Vision's holiday gift guide and enjoy going through every year and picking what cause my family is going to donate to.  If you want more info on how the gift guide works- check out this video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPlK9ILxEAs

Do you still have people on your list to buy for? People that seem to have everything?  Why not make a donation in their name and change a life! And if you choose to donate to the Maximum Impact Fund, you will receive a physical gift for yourself or for your loved one. Here are a few of the possibilities:
When gift-givers make a donation through World Vision’s Maximum Impact Fund, the gift is used where it’s most needed, tackling some of the world’s greatest challenges. With a donation of $25 or more the donor receives a free gift (a few listed below) to wear, carry, use or give to a loved one.  Most of the Maximum Impact Fund items available in the catalog are made by micro-enterprising artisans around the world and the sale proceeds directly benefit their communities.
  • Tie the beautiful beaded ornaments to napkin rings as a vivid tabletop decoration. The set includes three handmade Zakale wire and bead ornaments from Nairobi. Meaning "reuse," Zakale crafts are made from recycled materials by a group of Kenyan artisans reclaiming their own lives from poverty.
  • Dish up a salad with unique hand-carved serving spoons made with care to benefit orphans in Kenya.
  • Accessorize for a  party with a silk scarf from the coast of Thailand. After the harvest season, the women of Thailand’s Surin Province put down the farming tools and take up the loom to hand-wove the beautiful Sabai scarves.
  • The BPA-Free 16 oz. eco cold cup comes in handy when on the run. Every sip is a reminder of those who’ve been helped.

As thanks for my time in writing this post, World Vision sent me the hand-carved serving spoons- and they're gorgeous!  I can't wait to use them at our housewarming party next month.  And I have good news- one of you will also receive these pretty spoons! Enter at the Rafflecopter widget below.

Disclosure:  I received the spoons and the opportunity to give a set away as well. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

Theses spoons are amazing! I would have to keep them for myself. I have really been wanting to upgrade to wooden spoons and didn't really get christmas gifts, so they would be a gift to myself.
