Book review: What Your Husband Isn't Telling You

I typically don't review many books about marriage, but when I found out about a new book called What Your Husband Isn't Telling You, I was intrigued and agreed to do a review. Here's a bit about the book, from the publisher's website.
Do You Really Know Your Husband?
Your husband learned from an early age to deny his true feelings--and to be silent about his deepest needs. Most men long for greater intimacy with their wives, but they have no idea how to find it.
Bestselling author David Murrow breaks the silence--uncovering the central secret of your spouse's heart. He reveals what every husband since Adam has felt but has been unwilling or unable to say.
If you really want to know what's stored up in your husband's heart, read this book. You'll not only understand him better, you'll love and respect him more.

This book is well-written- I really felt like I was sitting down and having a conversation with the author, rather than reading an advice book. He's very open with his own struggles and experiences in his marriage. The chapters aren't overly long, and the book itself is fairly short.  All that being said, it still took me a month to read this book because of the content- I kept stopping to digest the material before moving on.   This is an excellent book with great information, but it's not a feel-good book by any means. The truths that the author shares are challenging ones.  And of course, not everything that he shares is applicable in all situations to all husbands.  Still, after reading it, I felt much more equipped in conversations with my husband.  It's been a real blessing to both of us.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review for myself, thanks to Baker Publishing. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
