Book review and giveaway: The Night Before My Birthday Book

I love establishing family traditions- those things that we do with our kids year after year on holidays and birthday are the things that my kids are going to remember when they grow up.  Recently we got a book that is going to lead to a new family tradition- The Night Before My Birthday Book! Here's a bit about this book, from its website:

The Night Before My Birthday Book  is a way of creating a new tradition for all families; one based on the celebration of your cherished child. The book is to be read on the eve of the birthday while your young one is tucked in bed, full of anticipation. It is a night of transition, birthday wishes, and dreams as your child prepares to go to sleep and magically wake up one year older.

You will see blank spaces on some of the pages. As you read the book, the first two blanks will be your child’s present age and the rest will be the brand new age as well as the number of hugs and kisses and candles on the birthday cake. At the back of the book, you will see pages to keep a birthday chronicle.

This book is absolutely darling! The poem is lovely and really celebrates your child and his or her special day. And the illustrations on each page are really beautiful too. It all ties together to make a really great book. I love the pages at the back of the book. They have space to record your child's name and which birthday is being celebrated, as well as to write down some "dreams that came true this year". Now that my kids are beyond the baby book stage (and honestly, as my brain gets older and more forgetful!) it's hard to remember the details of their birthday celebrations. What a fun way to help me remember!

The book itself is nicely bound with a hard cover, so it'll hold up for lots of years of reading! I can't wait for next June to roll around so that I can read this book the night before Vivian's next birthday!

And I have great news- one lucky reader will win a copy of this book! Open to US mailing addresses, enter at the Rafflecopter widget below.
