Book review: Sports Illustrated Kids- Full Count- Top 10 Lists of Everything in Baseball

My 5-year-old son, Ethan, love sports.  All sports. He's always either pretending to play a sport, asking us to play a sport with him, watching sports on TV, or paging through his many sports magazines and books.  If you ask him what his favorite sport is, he'll say "all sports", but he has a special place in his heart for baseball, and for his beloved Seattle Mariners.  So he was super excited to get a new book- the Sports Illustrated Kids- Full Count- Top 10 Lists of Everything in Baseball. Here's a bit about this book, from a press release that I received:

Full Count, a 96-page hardcover book, is a comprehensive yet fun look at the greatest aspects of baseball, presented in top 10 lists. From the most exciting World Series moments to the most colorful players, Sports Illustrated Kids ranks a variety of topics from the baseball diamond. Readers are guaranteed to love the 75 exciting action-packed photos from the Sports Illustrated collection and the insider knowledge of Sports Illustrated Kids. Filled with trivia and information, this dynamic book will be the definitive kids book on baseball.
Top 10 rankings included in Full Count:
·         Oddest Deliveries
·         Rivalries
·         Mascots
·         Ugly Uniforms
·         Sluggers
·         Families
·         And much more!
Ethan completely adores this book, and I think it's pretty great too! It's easy for me to read to him- no long paragraphs (I'm not quite as into sports as Ethan is), just pictures and descriptions of the people and events on the various lists. Since Ethan loves the Mariners so much, his favorite activity is paging through the book and looking for Mariners, then asking us to read to him.  We've all learned lots of fun facts about baseball from reading this book!

If there's a young baseball fan in your life, you definitely want to check out this great book!

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review for myself. All opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
