DVD review: Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham and Other Stories Deluxe Edition

Like most kids, my kids are huge fans of Dr. Seuss's books.  And their favorite, without a doubt, is Green Eggs and Ham. So when I opened a package last week that contained a DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack of Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham and Other Stories, they were ecstatic and made me put it in the DVD player right away. Here's a bit about this newly available collection of stories, from a press release that I received:
Dr. Seuss is serving up laughs and lessons in the newly re-mastered TV classic, Green Eggs and Ham. Join Sam-I-Am and his persistent attempts at introducing a reluctant fellow to a most delectable dish. Their escapades take them across a zany landscape while assembling a cast of characters that only the imagination of Dr. Seuss can bring to life.  Will Sam-I-Am convince his new friend to take a chance and finally try something new? Find out in this timeless tale the whole family will enjoy.

Then meet The Sneetches, who teach us that being yourself is the best way to fit in while the story of The Zax reminds us that there is nothing to gain from being stubborn.  So bring an appetite for a full course meal of fun that will fill your heart and mind!
Before we watched this collection of stories, we were all unfamiliar with the stories The Sneetches and The Zax.  We enjoyed getting to know them through this collection of stories. The Sneetches is a great story about not judging and treating others differently based on how they look and The Zax (a story about two very stubborn creatures) should really be mandatory watching for anyone in political office. The highlight of the collection though was definitely Green Eggs and Ham. The story comes to life with music and animation and lots of fun!

This deluxe edition will be available on either DVD or as a DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack. Both will be available for purchase on June 26, 2012.

Disclosure: I received the DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack of this deluxe edition to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
