Book review: Augie to Zebra- An Alphabet Book

Wednesday was a grey and gloomy day in Seattle, and to add to the gloom, my kids and I were fighting both jet lag from a cross-country flight, as well as a stomach bug.  Fortunately for us, the afternoon brought us some fun, in the shape of a package from Sasquatch Books! Inside the package was a book by Kate Endle and Caspar Babypants (two of our favorite artists/musicians!) called Augie to Zebra: An Alphabet Book! Here's a bit about the book, from Kate's Etsy page (where you can purchase this book and/or some of her fabulous artwork!)

My second picture book with children's musician Caspar Babypants! "Augie to Zebra" is a 32 page picture book for children. Written by myself and my husband Chris Ballew (aka children's musician Caspar Babaypants) this book is based on the old time alphabet car game. The text is also a song which is available for download and instructions are included with the book.

My kids are both learning to identify the letters of the alphabet, so I'm always trying to find fun ways for them to practice. This book is a great tool- each page has beautiful illustrations with a child, an animal and an activity, all which start with the letter of the alphabet which is featured on the page. In addition, there are other pictures of things that start with the same letter on most pages, so there's always lots to look at!

And if the book itself isn't fabulous enough, there's a free Caspar Babypants song that goes along with the book.  The kids and I both love this book and in the few days that we've had it, it's been a frequent request for reading.  So, if you're looking for a fun and beautiful book to help your children learn their alphabet, definitely check this book out!

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
