Review: mahu Baby Massage Oil

When my kids were babies, I heard again and again about the importance of baby massage. I think it's true even as my kids have gotten older, particularly for my 4 1/2 year old, who is dealing with a sensory disorder and needs a lot of touch to calm him down.  So I was happy to get to review a special baby massage oil from New Zealand, called mahu. Here's a bit about this product:

mahu Baby Massage Oil has been formulated from a rich blend of botanical oils that condition baby's skin and protect from the elements. Regular massage can assist in developing nighttime routines and promotes bonding between baby and parents. In addition to these benefits, baby massage has been known to relieve anxiety, restlessness, poor digestion, wind and colic.
Included in our unique blend:
  • Sunflower Seed Oil: High in essential fatty acids, Sunflower Seed Oil has a pleasant smell, is an excellent emollient and provides a protective barrier for the skin.
  • Soybean oil: A natural source of vitamin E, clinically proven to smooth skin texture, moisturize and provide barrier protection.
  • Lavender: a fragrant essential oil that is calming, relaxing, combats stress and has a healing, balancing effect on the skin.
I've been using this oil on the kids after their bath, and we all agree that we like the smell and light texture of this oil. It absorbs quickly and leaves them with a nice subtle fragrance. The oil and the rubbing of their arms and legs also seems to really help calm them down and help transition from playtime to bedtime.  I've even been using it on my own arms and legs and think it feels lovely. All in all, this is a massage oil that gets a vote of approval from the kids and me as well.

Disclosure: I received this product to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
