Review: Marshmallow Mischief

I've said it before and I'll say it again- having food show up at my door is one of the best things about being a review blogger. Especially when the food is as yummy as what arrived this week- a Mischievous Sampler from Marshmallow Mischief! I love the story behind this company- here's the scoop, from the Marshmallow Mischief website:

A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, and back in 2009 that is exactly what Marshmallow Mischief creator Sarah Figueroa Berchild did.

After experiencing the passing of her brother, Sarah began to look at her life as not one filled with scheduled deadlines, but one that would be lived through her experiences.

Travelling around the world and seeing different cultures, tasting what they had to offer, learning what comfort food meant in various parts of the world fascinated her and not only fulfilled her own dreams, but also reconnected her with her brother.  Their shared love of travel and of food inspired Sarah to come back home and get into the kitchen.

By mixing the freshest, organic ingredients, local and internationally sourced exotic spices and brown rice into an already much loved marshmallow treat, she began to mix up blissful little bites for her friends and loved ones.  She found that she could create a treat that spoke to everyone- from those who were watching their weight, to vegetarians, to organic healthy eaters, to Mom’s who wanted a sweet treat for their kids without all the preservatives- Sarah had hit the “sweet spot” when it came to the perfect bite.

Before long the clamoring for her blissful bites became so much that Marshmallow Mischief took on a life of its own and became the fun loving, blissful bite making, whimsical company that it is today.
Our Mischievous Sampler was a small box filled with nine pieces of yummy little marshmallow and rice treats.  I tried to make my husband (who is a gigantic fan of cereal treats) pick his favorite out of the eight flavors and he refused, saying they were all unique and equally delicious.  Which you can sort of guess, just based on names like Lava Aloha, Italian Kiss, and Tall, Dark & Crispy. My favorite was the Plain Jane, which is a delicious vanilla treat.

The treats are small, but the flavors are pretty strong, so you don't feel like you're missing out.  I think they are the perfect size for a snack and having one or two of the pieces makes for a great little dessert.  Best of all, the treats are all natural, gluten-free and gelatin-free.

If you're looking for a unique and delicious edible gift for yourself or a loved one, definitely check out all the flavors and assortments of treats over at Marshmallow Mischief!

Disclosure: I received this sampler pack to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
