Review and giveaway: Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers with Pasta

As I've mentioned here on the blog before, I have one major issue with dinnertime- I keep forgetting that it exists. I don't actually mind cooking, but I seem to be completely incapable of remembering that my family needs to eat dinner until 5:30 has already arrived.  Generally I can figure out a main course, but it's always a little more challenging to come up with a good vegetable or side dish. Which is why I absolutely adore Green Giant frozen vegetables and have fed them to my family many, many times. And now Green Giant has another wonderful product- the Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers with Pasta. Here's a bit about this new product:

Making meal time easier than ever, Green Giant has introduced vegetables with pasta and savory sauces to their already convenient and tasty line-up of Valley Fresh Steamers frozen mixes.

New Valley Fresh Steamers Vegetables with Pasta varieties include:
  • Macaroni and Cheese Sauce with Broccoli - classic elbow pasta and broccoli in a mouth watering cheese sauce

  • Pasta and Vegetables with Alfredo Sauce – delicious corkscrew pasta with carrots and broccoli in a savory Alfredo sauce
I was hoping to try the Macaroni and Cheese Sauce with Broccoli, since I adore mac & cheese, but my local grocery store only carried the Pasta and Vegetables with Alfredo Sauce. I got it home, microwaved the whole package for 4 minutes and opened it up.  And it was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly- the pasta was tender and the veggies were well-cooked but still crunchy and not at all soggy.  I thought the sauce was really delicious too. All in all, a big hit for our mealtime and a product that will be purchased again.

I have some good news- one of you will win the same Green Giant prize pack that I received- it will contain 2 Green Giant placemats, a broccoli stress reliever, a 32 oz serving bowl, a surprise face serving spoon and a coupon for a free Valley Fresh Steamer with Pasta! Open to US mailing addresses only, enter at the Rafflecopter widget below.

I mix veggies in other foods they love. We also use a food processor to make a Souper Soup with TONS of veggies! It tastes great and the kids have no idea how many veggies are packed into each and every bowl. Hehe...sneaky! :)

We use a reward system sort of, if they eat the veggies we're serving at night, they can get a SMALL second serving of dessert.

Luckily my kids like veggies so I don't have to sneak them in anything. They especially love broccoli!
