Review: Holiday cards from Minted

As I've mentioned here before, I really love holiday cards, both receiving and sending them.  I usually put all the cards we receive up on the closet doors in our living room/kitchen area, and they always make me smile when I walk past and see the smiling faces of our loved ones.

Yesterday we got home from a trip to Canada and a box was waiting on our doorstep. Inside was a fun thing- our holiday cards from Minted! I wasn't familiar with this company until they emailed me about doing a review, but as soon as I went to the website and browsed around, I knew I wanted to work with them.  They carry all sorts of great Christmas cards, New Year's cards, Hanukkah cards and lots of other stationery, invitations and announcements for all sorts of events.

There are so many great designs on the Minted site that I had trouble choosing just one. Fortunately, Minted makes it easy to choose what you want with handy search options. You can narrow down the search results by number of photos, format, occasion, designers, style, subject, photo orientation and price.  Having all of those options really helped me find the perfect card. And here it is!

Once I chose a design that I liked, I was able to customize the color and the message and upload my photo.  I chose the usual flat card that I generally send out, but with Minted, I was able to add something special to the back of the card:
It's like a Christmas letter built into my card! On this backer I had the chance to add additional photos of my kids being cute throughout the year, as well as include a short message talking about what my family has been up to this year. I really like this feature. Minted also offers some address labels that are a bit different from usual- on the front they look like regular address labels, but then they wrap around the back to say Merry Christmas.

In addition to the flat card with a backer that I chose, Minted offers folded cards, storyboard cards, yearline cards and minibook cards.
The Storyboard card (Photo property of Minted (and in an odd bit of coincidence, I happen to know the family pictured on this card on the Minted site in real life!))
The Yearline card (photo property of Minted)

The Minibook card (photo property of Minted)
Both Daniel and I are really pleased with our cards. The paper is a nice, thick cardstock, the printing is beautiful and the colors are nice and bright. Customizing was very easy and my cards arrived just a week after I placed my order. It was a pleasure working with Minted and I will be proud to send these cards out to our loved ones!

Minted cards are definitely more expensive than others I've sent out in previous years, but I love all the options available, the creative designs and the high quality of the product.  Lately, I have noticed that Minted has been running a lot of promotions on the site, so if you're interested in making a Minted card, definitely go by and see all that the site has to offer!

Right now I have a coupon code for you guys, good for 15% off of your holiday order, good through 11/28. Code: READERS27

Disclosure: I received a gift certificate from Minted to choose cards for myself for review. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
