Review: Trend Micro's Titanium Security Software

The other day I was reading a magazine article, and it brought up the old question "what would you save if your home was on fire?"  Other than my family and my cats, only one item really came to mind- my little computer.  It isn't much, just a small netbook, but it's pretty much indispensable for my family.  So it's really important to me to make sure it's running as efficiently as possible and that it's as safe as possible. Lately my computer has had some extra protection, Trend Micro's Titanium Security Software.  Here's a bit about this product, from the Trend Micro website:
  • Safeguards your PC, your Mac, and even your mobile devices
  • Protects against malware, spyware, spam, and other threats that allow cybercriminals to steal your private information like passwords, credit card numbers, or even your home address
  • Provides customizable tools to help you keep your kids safe online
  • Secures and defends your data with tools like the Trend Micro Vault, Secure Erase file shredder, and SafeSync secure online storage
  • Automatically shows you what links are safe and malicious on Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace
I've been using this product for a while now and have been really pleased by it.  It hasn't interfered with my computer's speed at all, but has done a great job of protecting it.  I especially like a couple of the features- the alerts as to which links are safe on Facebook is really handy, and the system tuner feature helps my computer run more efficiently. I also really like the SafeSync feature, which backs up my files securely, so that if my computer is ever lost or stolen (or when it wears out from overuse!), I can access them from another computer and won't lose them.  There are so many other features that Titanium offers, and I'm happy to have them all working to keep my computer safe.
