Congrats to my winners: A (Daily) Woman and The McKennas
Ethan and Vivian are 4 and 2 years old, and I'm always amazed by how much their little brains are able to retain and understand. Among other things, this means that Daniel and I are looking for ways to introduce them to issues related to God and faith. They love reading their kids' Bibles, but talking to them about salvation and other bigger issues in a way that they can understand has been a bit more challenging. So I'm so glad to have received a copy of a DVD designed for just that purpose. It's called Introducing Theo: Teaching Children God's Word and here's a bit about it:
Theo Presents is centered around the adventures and teachings of the main character, Theo, a student of Godʼs Word. Theo lives in a cozy corner of a quaint English village, in the heart of the Cotswolds, and entertains many guests, including two mice, Belfry and Luther.
The animation series of Theo guides children and adults through a careful study of systematic theology. Theo discusses doctrines about sin, Godʼs character, the Bible, salvation and godly living with easy-to-understand illustrations that make children want to learn more about the Christian faith. This Introducing Theo DVD that I reviewed has two short cartoons on it, one called "Saving Faith" and one called "Good News". The cartoons are only 5 and 9 minutes long, respectively, but they do a great job of introducing the topics of sin, faith and salvation. The animation is great on these cartoons, it looks like any big name animated show that you would see in the theater. The shows are a great combination of serious topics and funny antics as the mice who live with Theo constantly try to carry out some crazy escapade or another. My kids laughed and really enjoyed the shows!
If you're a Sunday School teacher or just a parent who is looking for a way to expand on your child's understanding of God, I'd highly recommend that you check out the Theo DVDs and other resources. For more information, you can check out the Theo website or Facebook page. You can also download a free iPhone/iPad app at the Theo website. There's also a church curriculum available for purchase at Lifeway.
There's another great thing about this DVD- for every Theo DVD purchased, Whitestone Media and Child Evangelism Fellowship® will send a child in need their very own copy of Theo. You can log onto TheoPresents.com after making your own purchase, and select the region of the world you'd like another copy of Theo to be sent.
