Review: Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit

I admit it, I have a bad habit of not always eating breakfast.  I always manage to drink coffee, of course, but despite knowing how important breakfast is, I often don't eat it.  Mostly because of how busy my mornings are, but also because I get tired of the breakfast options that we have around the house.

Apparently I am not alone in this bad habit- here are some interesting statistics from the 2011 Children's Nutrition Survey, conducted by Harris Interactive for Seneca Farms
  • Nearly 60% of U.S. parents of children ages 3-17 admit that their child skips breakfast, with more than half of U.S. Moms wishing their child ate a more nutritious breakfast.
  • 58% of U.S. Moms say they skip breakfast regularly. 46% of Moms who skip breakfast say they do so because they do not have enough time to prepare or eat it.
  • 57% of single adults say the number one reason they skip breakfast is that they don’t have enough time to prepare it.
  • While 71% of U.S. adults agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, 67% of those admit to skipping breakfast.
Apparently there's a lot of us who have good intentions and know the importance of breakfast, but just don't manage to follow through and eat a healthy breakfast! .

Recently I received a wonderful new breakfast food to sample, to help me turn my non-breakfast eating ways around.  It's a new product from Seneca Farms called Oatmeal & Fruit, and it's delicious! Here's a bit about this new breakfast food, from its website:
Made with real fruit, our Oatmeal & Fruit cups are available as two-pack sleeves or convenient single serve cups.
Ready to go nutrition – no water or milk required – just heat and eat! What’s not to love!
I am a huge fan of these Oatmeal & Fruit cups. In addition to tasting great I like that they only take 45 seconds in the microwave to prepare and the portion size is just right for my breakfast.  I have been especially liking them for the mornings when I go running early- I need a food that gives me some energy but isn't too heavy, and these Oatmeal & Fruit cups are perfect. Right now they're available in Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla Peach, with Maple & Brown Sugar and Cranberry Apple flavors coming soon! To find these, you can check out your local Walmart, or visit this link for information on where else they can be found in your area.

Disclosure: This post was written for Family Review Network & Seneca who provided the complimentary product for review in exchange for my honest opinions. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
