Review: K-Magic from K's Kids

I've had an interesting new problem develop in my home over the past week and a half.  I keep finding my kids climbing up on chairs, or on the bookshelf, all in a desperate attempt to find and reach their favorite thing in the world.  This wonderful object?  It's called K-Magic, and it's a new product from K's Kids.  Here's the scoop, from a press release that I received:

This is the kind of toy that I like to have in my home because it's designed to grow with my kids, appealing to kids ages 0-6.  Babies can use the K-Magic to listen to music, toddlers can use it to learn words, then preschoolers and kindergartners can play the games and watch the cartoons.  The 20 cartoons are pre-loaded on the K-Magic, while the music for babies and cartoons come on 16 sturdy, easy-to-use cartridges.  Even my 2-year-old, Vivian, has figured out how to change the cartridges to get the game that she wants. Topics on the games include shapes, math fun, telling time, alphabets and numbers, first words, matching, hide and seek and sounds and music, to name a few. Each game has three levels of challenge.

We really love our K-Magic.  It's such a wonderful combination of entertainment and education for the kids. And it's been very easy for my kids to learn to use.  Again, even Vivian has figured out, with just a tiny bit of instruction from me, how to play the games that are appropriate to her age, and how to choose which cartoon she wants to watch and make it start.  The Patrick and Friends characters in both the cartoons and games are cute, and the colors are bright and attention-getting.  Ethan and Vivian have been having a good time with the both the games and the cartoons, and they're learning while they have fun! That's a win-win, in my opinion.

We received the combo pack, which comes with a a nice carrying bag and hanging strap, in addition to the console and the games. The K-Magic itself has a thick, child-friendly handle for easy transport (the handle can also be used as a stand).  Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment and had to take my kids along. I was initially concerned about keeping them entertained during my exam (chasing my kids around while wearing an exam gown didn't sound like much fun), but then I remembered the K-Magic. We got so many comments on it from everyone that saw us at the doctor's office. And it kept my almost 4-year-old and 2-year-old happily sitting in their stroller quietly for 45 minutes! Seriously, I love the K-Magic.
