I love Social Toddler!

I recently learned about a great new website- Social Toddler. This new site was designed by a dad of a 3-year-old girl, so it's right on target for what parents of little ones need- ideas for activities, playgroups, outings, and expert advice on parenting issues.

For the activities- Social Toddler makes it easy to quickly find things to do with your child- just put in your zipcode and the site will automatically come up with a list of family-friendly events and activities nearby.  But not just the name of activities or events- Social Toddler also gives you a description, information on date and time, and an address, as well as a map of the address. And you can share info about the event on Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon or by email. Everything is right there on one page. If you have a specific type of activity or outing in mind, you can browse by category. Categories include community, the arts, educational, sports/outdoor, and other.

If you're in need of new friends for your child, there's also a page where you can search for playgroups in your area. I never know where to find playgroup info, so I love this feature.  And for those friendships that you already have, you can use Social Toddler to connect with people, plan events/parties/outings, and communicate.

Social Toddler also has a nice page of articles from experts in nine different areas. Topics of discussion range from autism to sleep issues, safety to career, travel to education- and much more! You can read articles written by these experts, which is nice, but the site also includes links to the experts' websites and ways to contact them with the questions that you're dealing with.

There are a number of "activity-finding and planning" sites on the internet for parents, but this one is by far my favorite. It manages to be both easy-to-use and thorough all at once.  I'm thrilled to have learned about this new site for parents, and suggest that you check it out too!
