Review: Twinings of London Tea

I admit it, one Seattle stereotype is totally true for me- I drink LOTS of coffee.  But once upon a time, in a lifetime long, long ago, I lived in Ukraine. In Ukraine tea drinking is a very important part of social life.  Most days I could be found in my kitchen, eating cookies and sipping tea with a friend.  So I still have a real soft spot in my heart for tea, and frequently brew myself a cup and drink it and reminisce.

Recently I received some fabulous teas that I have greatly been enjoying drinking. The tea is from Twinings of London, which is a company started in 1706 by Thomas Twining.  Twinings teas are still sold from the original store in the Strand in London, as well as in 100 other countries around the world.  Now that's an impressive pedigree!

I received samples of several varieties of Twinings teas including Herbal Unwind, Chai French Vanilla, Lady Grey, Lemon Green Tea, and Pomegranate Delight.  I really enjoyed all of these flavors, but the Chai French Vanilla was definitely my favorite. It's a nice black tea with all the flavors of ginger and cinnamon, cardamom, clove and vanilla that you expect in a chai drink.  I added a touch of cream for extra flavor and it was delicious.  I will definitely be purchasing this in the future! My husband really enjoyed the Herbal Unwind tea and thought that one was his favorite. It's a caffeine-free herbal tea with flavors of mandarin and orange. Yum!

The teas that I sampled are just a few of the 50 varieties of tea available from Twinings. For a full product list or information on where you can find Twinings teas, visit the website

Disclosure: I received this tea, thanks to Twinings and Smile.ly, to review for myself. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.
