The first product that I tested out was the Smoky ShadowBlast. This is a cream eyeliner that comes in a double-sided tube. One side has the base color and the other side has a darker color to use for accent to make the perfect smoky eye! It's really easy to use and comes with instructions on where exactly to apply which color, so it's pretty much foolproof. I thought that the eye shadow went on easily and was easy to blend. It definitely made for a huge improvement over attempts that I've made to do a smoky eye on my own! The eye shadow didn't stay put all day though, it's definitely something that I have to reapply after a few hours.
I received my eyeshadow in the Purple Plume shade, and was a little worried that it would be too bold for me. But when I applied it, it was much more subdued than it looked in the tube. On the CoverGirl website you can use their ColorMatch service to find the right color for your skin tone and hair/eye color.
The other product that I got to test out was ShineBlast lipgloss. I have a fairly extensive collection of lipglosses, and this one compares well to the other ones that I use. I thought it went on nicely and wasn't at all sticky. I like the shine of the gloss and the color of the lipgloss that I received was very subtle (I got the Smolder shade). I like that, since I'm usually wearing lipgloss while out and about with my kids, and I don't want a bold look. If you are looking for something with more color on your lips, this might not be the right choice for you, but if you're looking for good shine, then it works well! Again, it doesn't stay on for a particularly long time, but it's easy to reapply as needed.
I think that both of these items are nice additions to my makeup drawer, the eyeshadow in particular. Check them out the next time you're in the makeup aisle of your favorite store!
