I learned something new today- children have been undercounted in every single US census since the first one, way back in 1790! Why is this such a bad thing? The government uses the census data to determine distribution of federal funds to communities for things like improving schools, roads, hospitals and senior services. So, when we fail to accurately report how many people are in our home, we may impact the funding for our children's school!
Click on the link at the top of this page to go visit the US Census 2010 page and find out all about the upcoming census. And remember to count everyone in your family when you're reporting data to the US Census, you'll be doing a good thing for your community!
