Review and giveaway: SwaddleDesigns zzZipMe Sack

Vivian and I recently had the opportunity to try out a wonderful product from another Seattle company, SwaddleDesigns. SwaddleDesigns was started by Lynette Damir, who decided to combine her years of nursing experience at Swedish Hospital in Seattle (where Vivian was born!) and her studies in design at the Art Institute of Seattle. What she came up with was the Ultimate Receiving Blanket. This is a blanket that's larger than your typical blanket, making swaddling your baby easier- AND- it has swaddling instructions sewn into the edge of the blanket.  Swaddling is great for your baby, but sometimes a challenge for parents, especially after a sleepless night or two (or four, or eight...). So having the instructions right on hand and a bigger blanket to make the whole process easier- brilliant!

My kids are past the swaddling stage, so Lynette sent me another one of her products to review, the zzZipMe Sack. We love sleep sacks at our house, so I was happy to get to try another one. We were not disappointed- it's been great!  The zzZipMe Sack is made of a nice plush fabric- Daniel and I both said that when Vivian is in it, it's like having a big fuzzy stuffed animal next to us! Vivian seems to really love the fabric too- I have found herself lying in her bed and petting her zzZipMe Sack many times.  In addition to the cuteness of the sack, we like that it keeps her nice and warm at night, even when the room is on the cool side.  The other thing that the zzZipMe Sack has that is great is a two-way zipper. This is so handy for middle of the night diaper changes- just zip up from the bottom of the sack, change the diaper and everything is done with minimal disturbance to the baby.
