Review and giveaway (closed): How to Never Look Fat Again (book)

Typically I try to review books as they come in. Right now I have a fairly large pile that I'm working my way through, and I was determined to stick with my first-come-first-read plan. And then, thanks to my involvement at the Product Review Place, I received a copy of How to Never Look Fat Again by Charla Krupp. I sat down with it on the couch, planning to just glance at it- and then soon found myself at the end of the book with a notebook full of notes. I love this book!

This book is just amazing. It has so much advice in it- advice that I really needed, and I bet you do too!  It starts out with a description of high-fat, low-fat and no-fat styles, fabrics and colors on a general level, then quickly gets into the specific problem areas that we women deal with- things like a wide face, arm flap, big bust, muffin top/back fat, buddha belly, and heavy calves. In each of these chapters, Charla has tips for dressing thinner for that specific problem, easy swap-outs, things to avoid, things to look for, and some great pictures showing how the exact same person can look so much heavier just by wearing certain things. I kept showing the pictures to my husband and saying "can you believe that's the same person, just wearing different clothes?"  I also really like the section in the chapters to help you look thinner by tonight, and specific tips for people who are petite or plus sized.

The other great thing in the chapters is the section called "brilliant buys".  It gives you ideas of stores or websites to shop at and what exactly to buy.  Charla finishes up the chapters with vows to take to never look fat again. These are great reminders of all the things she covered in the chapter- easy things to keep in mind!

The book also has sections on how to avoid looking fat in summer and winter, while working out, and a chapter for evening wear as well.  My other favorite section is the one with 37 tips for weight loss- easy changes we can make that make a big difference.

We all work hard to get in shape and loose weight to look good, but do yourself a favor and get this book- it's so full of wonderful ideas to look thinner right away!
