Anyone know what that is? Not a robot (I wish!). It's actually a hot water dispenser that sits on our counter and dispenses hot water with the touch of a button. This is an appliance that I'd never seen until I started dating Daniel, but that I later found out is a fairly common thing in most Asian homes. I wasn't thrilled to put it on my counter when we got it- it's small, but it doesn't really match the things I registered for when we got married. I was quickly a convert though- instant hot water for tea and hot chocolate!
And then I had kids and the uses for this are endless. We use it to quickly heat up bottles and baby food. We use it for dispensing water in which to rinse off pacifiers that have been dropped on the floor. I use it to make a cup of green tea in the 20 seconds of free time that I have mid-morning.
It dispenses water at either 140 or 208 degrees. We usually keep ours at the higher setting, but my in-laws like to drink warm water, so they keep theirs at the lower setting. It's super easy to switch between the two. And the tank holds 2.2 liters of water, so we don't have to refill it often, which I really like.
Seriously, this is one appliance that you should think about adding to your home. They are available online, just look up "hot water dispenser". Or if you live in a city with a large Asian population, drop by the Asian supermarket- they'll probably have a bunch of varieties in stock.
No compensation for this, just my opinion!
